Ingredients

  • 5-6 pounds country style pork ribs
  • ¼-1/3 cup Pork Seasoning substitute with salt/black pepper and seasonings as desired
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 300°F. Line a large sheet pan with aluminum foil.
  • Pat the ribs dry with paper towels and on the prepared sheet pan. Generously season on all sides. Cover the pan tightly with foil. Bake 2-2 ½ hours.
  • Carefully remove the pan from the oven. The ribs produce a lot of liquid, so be careful as you transfer the pan and open the foil. Using a fork, check for the ribs tenderness. They should pull apart easily. If they don’t, re-cover with foil and bake an additional 30 minutes.
  • Lower the oven temperature 275°F. Carefully tilt a corner of the sheet pan into a bowl, draining the pan of the liquids. Brush a generous amount of barbecue sauce over all sides of the ribs. Return to the oven. Bake uncovered an additional 30-45 minutes.
  • Optional step, broil 3-5 minutes for extra barbecue sauce caramelization.
  • Remove the ribs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Brush with additional bbq sauce, if desired.

Notes

Storage:
Store any leftover country style barbecue pork ribs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
You can also freeze the cooked ribs. Wrap them tightly in aluminum foil or place them in a freezer-safe container, and store for up to 2 months. Reheat in the oven for best results.
Tips:
  • Use Store-bought Seasoning for Ease. You can use a store-bought pork seasoning or spice rub or make your own blend with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, and a touch of brown sugar.
  • Choose your Favorite Barbecue Sauce. Feel free to use your favorite bbq sauce brand. For a different twist, try a honey barbecue sauce or a spicy sauce. You can also opt for a homemade bbq sauce.
  • Try Finishing them on the Grill. While this recipe is designed for baking, you can also grill the ribs for an extra smoky flavor. Simply pre-cook them in the oven, then finish on the grill.
  • You can Marinate in Advance for Even More Flavor. For even more flavor, marinate the ribs in the seasoning overnight before cooking.
