Pro Tips and Substitutions

  • Cracker Options: Other than oyster crackers, you can make ranch oyster crackers with mini saltine crackers, full size saltines, club crackers, ritz crackers, or cheese crackers or crisps.
  • Oil Substitutes: If you prefer, any neutral oil or melted butter can replace vegetable or canola oil for a different flavor profile.
  • Make them Spicy: Add a touch of heat by adding crushed red pepper flakes and/or cayenne pepper.
  • Flavor Variations: Feel free to experiment with seasonings like Italian seasoning, taco seasoning, Old Bay seasoning, chili powder, black pepper, onion powder, or smoked paprika.
  • To Make It Vegetarian: Ensure the ranch seasoning mix is vegetarian-friendly or use a homemade seasoning blend.
  • Homemade Ranch Seasoning: If you'd prefer to make the packet of ranch seasoning from scratch, you can follow my Homemade Ranch Seasoning recipe.

Storage

Store leftover Hidden Valley ranch oyster crackers in an air-tight container or plastic bag at room temperature. They will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks—if they last that long!
